Let’s alter Jessica’s Favorite Fall Smoothie to be Reboot compliant and continue increasing your greens! Vegetables and dark greens in particular are a critical component of the reboot but may be days when you just can’t eat them from a plate. Here’s your solution! Great for before or after gym time, or when time is tight and it’s been 3 hours since your last meal.
Cinnamon is a known source of calcium and magnesium as well as an anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory. Cinnamon ranks #1 in studies for powerful antioxidants.
1 cup of cold water
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (pure)
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1/2 medjool date, pit removed or a full fig (1/2 date allowed on Wednesday and Thursday, skip it if you can)
1 scoop of stevia or monk fruit flavored clean “vegetable” protein powder, vanilla or chocolate
2-4 cups of fresh or frozen spinach, kale or swiss chard
4 ice cubes
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (and more for the on top if you love cinnamon!)
Blend all ingredients on high in a high-powered blender and serve with cinnamon on top!
